GORING SOCIAL CLUB RECEIVES ‘CAMRA’ AWARD
The Club was cheered by the recent news that it has been awarded the ‘South Central Region ‘Club of the Year’ accolade by CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale). This prestigious award is presented to reflect the high quality of real ale sold in the Club and the commitment to the sale of real ale to club members. Given the competition from other clubs in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and parts of Buckinghamshire, this award is a real feather in our cap! The Social Club has three real ale pumps at the bar, one of which offers two different guest ales every week. So far this year we have offered nearly 70 different ales on the guest pump in addition to the regular ales provided by West Berkshire Brewery (Old Father Thames) and Butcombe brewery from Somerset. Thanks are offered to Dave Dean and his bar staff without whose cellar skills and commitment, this award would not have been possible. The presentation of the award will be made on Saturday 11th December around 9.15pm. Please make every effort to attend to support your club on this important occasion –the annual Xmas bottle draw will also take place on this evening as well.
The Club now goes forward for consideration at the CAMRA national club finals – a very good effort for a small village club.

Come along to the Race Night on Saturday 13th November. We are still selling the owners and trainers so you need to move quickly if you want one. We will still be auctioning the last two races when you will have the opportunities for a BIG WIN.
The night will start at 7.30 so make sure you get to the club early for a grandstand seat. Late license until 11.30pm.
