November – December Ales
New ales from Mid –November to early December.

At the time of writing (4/11/2008), Crouch Vale Best Bitter (4.0) is on the middle pump (and is excellent), to be followed by Crouch Vale Brewer’s Gold (4.0) and Oakleaf bitter (3.08). We only have 1×9 gallon firkins each of these ales and so they will all go pretty quickly. Notes for the following ales are based on brewery descriptions.
New arrivals in November include:-
Adnams Bitter (3.7)

A classic bitter and old favourite at GSC. Copper coloured and late and dry hopped with Fuggles hops for a distinctive and lingering hoppiness. Go for it! Delivered on November14th
Fullers Chiswick bitter (3.5)

More good stuff here! This golden, light and refreshing ale has a biscuity malt and crisp hop flavours, enhanced by a good floral aroma. Well balanced with a lasting bitterness in the finish. Delivered on November 14th, it won’t last long.
Triple FFF of Alton. Alton’s Pride (3.8)

First time in the Club and a great chance to try this Champion beer of Britain for 2008. Delivery of 2×9 firkins on November 21st. A clean tasting golden brown beer which is full bodied for its strength with an aroma of floral hops. An initial malty flavour fades as citrus notes and hoppiness take over, leading to a hoppy bitter finish. This is a lovely ale and we have two firkins of it.
Elgoods Cambridge Bitter (3.8)

Another old favourite returns at the end of the month. Malty and fruity with a delicious hop aroma. A dry finish and moreish taste. You’ll love this as ever and we have two firkins for your enjoyment!
As you can see, all the ales from mid November are low gravity, session beers and all are well priced. The Adnams will be the most expensive at £2.20 a pint. So get along and enjoy!
