Jazz Night Is Coming Next Saturday!
The Goring Social Clubs entrainment committee have arrange something a little different for the club. For the first time the club is to stage an official Jazz Night! If you are a Jazz lover or haven’t even experienced a Jazz band before then why not join us on Saturday 20th of September. The band will be Christine & The Stackyard Stompers a classic New Orleans style band.

Playing an exciting repertoire of 1920s classic jazz, the Stackyard Stompers hail from the Home Countries. Christine, the leader of the band on trombone and vocals, has put together a programme of authentic arrangements from jazz greats: King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Johnny Dodds, Clarence Williams, Fletcher Henderson, Fats Waller, with a little of Louis Armstrong, Jabbo Smith and even Duke Ellington. The Stompers also enjoy bringing back to life some of the more obscure bands and tunes of the period! Under the maxim “Classic jazz needn’t be boring”, the band appears at this year’s festival with a line-up including star reedman and good friend Norman Field. Whatever your tastes, the enthusiastic style of The Stackyard Stompers will captivate and entertain.
