Why Not Try Our Guest Ales
The guest pump has proved to be especially successful this year and thanks must go to Dave, Adam and Jane for keeping all the beers in excellent condition. So far this year, we have consumed 55 different beers on the Guest pump and most of them have been very drinkable! An increasing number of micro-brewers are producing lighter, hoppy and bitter beers with a floral aroma. In this way they hope to compete with lager sales and attract younger drinkers to crafted real ales. We have obtained a number of these beers from the trade and most of them have been of very good quality and taste, but different from the expectations of ‘traditional’ drinkers. Most of the guest beers have been of the more recognisable copper and dark brown colour with a good blend of malt and hops. It is our policy to bring in to the Club a variety of different ales representing beers all types of the brewing process – you may like some more than others but please sample a pint of the guest ale when it arrives – and more if you like it!! We usually sell two different guest ales in a week – so pop in to sample or you may be disappointed!
